About this campaign
7 years ago I rescued Richard from the Rez dog rescue in Bozeman, MT. He was only 8 weeks old. Since then we have been inseparable. He is my adventure buddy and we do everything together from peaking mountains to camping trips. He is the sweetest boy and instantly loves anyone he meets.
A month ago, Richard and I went on a hike in Arizona and after we returned he was not himself for a bit, very lethargic and tired, after a week I took him into the ER where they suspected valley fever. He was is valley fever meds since. He seemed slightly better after 2 weeks, but started acting very lethargic and lost a ton of weight. His health severely declined and he is now hospitalized.
Richard’s favorite activities are hiking and saying hi to any people he meets. He loves going to dog beach and on his daily walks. He always carries such positive energy and is happy to do anything with me.
I am currently living in California with him in a tiny home rental that is very costly, but perfect for Richard as he has his own private outdoor space when I am at work. I have a ton of student loans and my parents have supported me, but I cannot afford 15k in bills.
