Rico is a 1.7-year-old Ragdoll Cat in Morehead City, NC, who needs $2,000 for Perineal Urethrostomy Surgery.

I got Rico when he was about 5 months old. I was down in Puerto Rico visiting my father in law who raises stray pets. When I saw met Rico I fell in love and truly I mean in love. I had never been much of a cat person but once I saw his sparkling blue eyes I knew he was mine. We rushed around town that day to get him checked by a vet and prepped to fly out with me later that night.

To continue-- Sure enough Rico flew home with me to North Carolina. Since that day Rico has fit into our house beautifully. Other 2 pups, Lyza and Maggie absolutely adore him-- especially Maggie, they are the best of friends (craziest part is Maggie isn't always the greatest with other pets).When Rico came into our lives we had originally named "him" Nila, that is until his first vet visit in NC.

Rico is one of the sweetest most docile pets, but still has that funny spunky side. He is sure to put a smile on anyone's face who meets them. Not only is he the sweetest cat, but he is crazy intelligent. He taught himself to sit and give paw on demand just by watching our dogs. He had the best spirit and is just such a resilient cat. At a young age he was diagnosed with severe asthma.

Rico fought severe asthma attacks until we could get a true diagnosis and put him on the correct medication. At this point we thought he was in the clear, but a few months ago he started having several UTI's and multiple urinary blockages. At this point he has gone through all treatments and surgery is not his final option. This is something we have to do as blockages are detrimental.

My Rico boy is my world and I couldn't imagine my life without him. As he has already been in and out of the hospital the last few months I am still trying to find ways to pay those charges off and now with this new large expense for surgery I truly can not afford it.
