Riley is a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Littleton, CO, who needs $10,000 for Hospitalization and Surgery.

I rescued this sweet girl when she was just 5 months old from the shelter. She has been a literal life saver and now it is up to me to save her life. I got her at a point in my life when I was going through severe grief and loss and she stayed by my side, licked my face, cuddled me during the day and during sleep, and gave my other dog a playmate. I owe it to her to do the best I can to help her.

Riley got bit by a rattlesnake last week. The first vet I took her to said it wasn’t venomous, but during the next 2 days the swelling in her leg grew and grew and her pain was out of control. We rushed her to another vet who hospitalized her, gave her the anti venom, IV pain meds, and saved her.. But the necrosis is growing up her leg and now invading her thoracic cavity. She now needs surgery.

Riley is such a sweet, fun girl who loves to play, loves her toys, and loves to interact with everyone she sees. She runs around the yard protecting it and digs holes to hide all her stuffed animals in. She keeps my 10 year old dog young and we are our little, happy family. To lose her would be devastating.

I have already paid a small fortune for her care. I am a working nurse, which doesn’t pay a lot, and it is extremely expensive to have the much needed surgery to cut out the necrotic tissue to hopefully save her leg and ultimately save her life.
