Help Riley from a life of neglect

Meet Riley. His story is one of heartbreak and quiet resilience. This gentle senior Cavalier mix was surrendered to a crowded shelter. He was confused and scared, yet still greeted all with shy, hopeful tail wags in hopes that someone would save him.

His body tells the story of neglect: raw, itchy skin from chronic allergies, painful ear infections, and untreated dry eye. But through it all, his spirit never dimmed. Riley still looks to people with trust, asking only for love and care.

Now safe, Riley is finally receiving the devoted medical care he’s long needed. His healing journey will take time, but his sweet nature and forgiving heart remind us to never turn away—because no animal should have to suffer in silence when love can heal.

Update 11/15/25
Riley, now known as Phineas, is doing wonderfully! He's already been to the vet three times and the fur around his eyes is all grown back. He has eyelashes now and most of the spots that he had are cleared up, and even the irritation in his skin is much better. His ear still seems to be causing him some pain and they are talking about possibly some drastic measures which I hope we don’t have to resort too, but if he’s in pain all the time we would need to consider it. He is the most loving sweetest dog that I’ve ever had. He sleeps about 90% of the day but when he’s up, he’s really up and he loves absolutely everybody, every dog, and every person, so we are thrilled to have him and can’t thank you all enough.
