I got my dog from a breeder and she’s been with me for a year now. Her name is Riley, and I named her that because it sounded like Rottweiler in a way and it was a feminine name to me. It suits my dog very well because the name screams playful and gentle, which are everything that Riley is.

Riley has always been a playful dog. She loves running around and following me upstairs to cuddle with me on my bed. She loves going to the park. After a cumulation of excessive jumping, she unfortunately tore both ACLs. She limped for days. I took her to Veterinary Medical Center of Central New York, and it was confirmed that she will need a surgery on both ACLs.

Most people view Rottweilers as aggressive dogs. Riley is not that at all. She is gentle and sweet. She might be timid at first, but the second she warms up to you, she will beg you to pet her. She loves to cuddle. Her large number of stuffed animals shows that.

I am a deaf full-time college student. I play volleyball in college, so it is hard to find time for a job. My plan for Riley was for her to become my hearing dog. She was supposed to live on campus and go everywhere with me whenever I travel for volleyball games.
