About this campaign
Riley is a sweet 5-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever from New York who means the world to his mom. After she battled a serious case of COVID in 2020, Riley came into her life in February 2021 and brought something she desperately needed—hope, comfort, and unconditional love.
Now Riley needs help.
While playing outside with his dog siblings, Riley injured his right rear leg. A few days later, his mom noticed he was limping and struggling to put weight on it. After visiting the veterinarian and an orthopedic specialist, Riley was diagnosed with a complete Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) tear, a painful injury similar to an ACL tear in humans.
For the past three months Riley has been on pain medication, but he continues to limp and avoid using his leg. The specialist confirmed that Riley needs TPLO surgery to repair the ligament and relieve his pain so he can walk normally again.
Riley is scheduled for surgery on March 7, 2026, and his veterinarian believes he has an excellent chance of making a full recovery.
The surgery is estimated to cost $7,416. Paws 4 A Cure has generously provided a $400 grant, but Riley’s family still needs to raise $2,400 to move forward with this lifesaving procedure.
Riley isn’t just a pet—he’s family. His mom describes him as her comfort, her heart, and the dog who helped her heal during one of the hardest times in her life.
Your donation will help Riley get the surgery he urgently needs so he can walk, run, and play again without pain. Every contribution—no matter the amount—brings Riley one step closer to recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Riley’s story can also help him reach the support he needs. Together, we can give Riley the chance to live the happy, healthy life he deserves.
