Ritz is a 9 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Rogersville , TN, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery of Right Forelimb.

We located our little Ritz Bitz at The Cavalier Rescue, a life-saving rescue organization. They found us perfect to be his forever home and we brought him home in May 2024, when he was 7 months old. He was surrendered for euthanasia from a mill breeder who said, "He's deformed and no one will want him." The Cavalier Rescue stepped in to save him. Now he's ours! (I suspect we belong to him!)

Ritz was born with a congenital malformation of his right front paw. He runs like the wind, but has been compensating for the short leg. We brought him to UT VMC to find out what's needed. Three expensive surgeries will get him pain free, able to live a long life. 1st is a muscle adjustment to his upper muscle. TOMORROW, July 16th. Around $2,000. The other two surgeries can wait another 3-9 months

Ritz is unstoppable! He runs like the wind, is loved by his 6 fur-siblings, and snuggles hard. He doesn't know he's different but his level of discomfort is getting real. We need to get him whole while there's time before permanent damage sets in. Hearing his little yelps of pain while he's trying to live his best puppy life is hard. He deserves a full life and we pledged to see this through.

We rescue dogs like Ritz and keep funds on hand for specialist care. We regularly add to our pet care fund, but these surgeries, starting tomorrow and continuing for a year, threaten to deplete those funds. So, we're asking for crowd funding to help, as difficult that is.
