I rescued River and his brother Koda from a cat adoption after losing my elderly cat. He is 2 years old and was born without a tail. We moved from Atlanta to Asheville one month before Hurricane Helene and were displaced and without water for months. RIver has been a trooper through all of these transitions and I do not want him to be in pain from his gums anymore.

River has Juvenile Gingivitis, a severe inflammatory condition that causes chronic pain, infection, and rapid deterioration of the gums and teeth in young cats. Despite his young age, the disease has progressed to the point where his gums are constantly inflamed and he is in severe pain, causing him to drool and not want to eat. Cat Clinic of Asheville will do the full mouth extraction surgery.

River has been with his litter mate Koda since birth. I adopted them out of the same cage and they are never apart. They take care of one another, are playmates and cuddle buddies. River is always purring and when I am in the bed, he is on top of me...Koda follows, laying on top of River. It is so hard to see him in pain.

I opened a shop/gallery for artists who lost their studios in Hurricane Helene. All of my money has gone towards helping these artists rebuild so I do not have the funds for the surgery. River is adored in our home and we want him to be well and peaceful again.
