About this campaign
River is a mixed breed that we found in 2021 that had a severe injury to her left paw She was about eight weeks old and we were able to get her fixed up and she was raised by cats. That’s right she thinks she is also a cat. We love her personality and she does have a big one as well as a large mouth for talking. She loves to bird and squirrel watch every day.
River has bruising all over her torso and elbows, as well as road rash and abrasions. Her right rear leg has a dislocation of the metatarsal from the ankle joint requiring orthopedic surgery in order to plate and screw to stabilize. They are originally seen at Northwest Animal Hospital and will be having an orthopedic surgeon come in to do their procedures March 18th.
River has been an amazing family dog as well as cat wrangler. She is happy that her sisters are alive And wants to be around her family every second she gets.
Although we would like to think that we are always financially prepared for emergencies, we never anticipated having multiple orthopedic procedures being done on two of our pets at once. This will be a long road to recovery. (maggie is also posted)
