4/11/26 Update

We’re so happy to share that River has successfully undergone her eye removal surgery, and she is now recovering well! Her procedure went smoothly, and her veterinary team is pleased with how she’s doing so far.

Most importantly, River is already more comfortable. The painful eye that had been affecting her quality of life is no longer causing her distress, and she’s beginning the healing process surrounded by care and love. She’s resting, receiving her medications, and being closely monitored to ensure her recovery stays on track.

4/25/26 Update

We are thrilled to share the best possible news about River — she has made a full recovery from her eye removal surgery and is feeling wonderful.

Since her procedure, River has healed beautifully and has adjusted incredibly well. Most importantly, she is no longer living with the pain and discomfort that once affected her every day. She is back to being the playful, affectionate, joy-filled cat we all know and love.

Watching her feel good again has been such a gift. And now, River’s journey gets even better. Because adoption opportunities are much more limited for cats here in Florida, River has officially gone on transport to our northern shelter partners, where cats are adopted much more quickly and have a far better chance of finding loving forever homes.

This means River is not only healthy — she is now one huge step closer to the family she has always deserved. Your donations made every part of this possible: her surgery, her recovery, her comfort, and now her chance at a new beginning.
