I rescued Rocco a month ago. I wanted a pack mate for my 3 year old female husky. After discovering his previous injury he does not get to go on walks or play too rough. He is currently injured so he gets around as best as he can but I’m sure he could limp for miles without stopping. He sleeps on the couch every night and comes to my room to wake me up for his morning poddy break.

He gets along well with everyone in the house. He has gotten used to the 2 cats. He is submissive yet assertive. He is loving, protective, and spoiled. Anything new fascinates him and he likes to make up his own games. His favorite toys are ropes and good ol sticks. He is a 65 lb lap dog. He loves car rides and will follow you around everywhere to go.

Rocco’s adoption file stated he had a potential adopter visit with him once and the dog got very excited and began to hump the gentleman’s leg. I figured me and my other dog would fix that in a week or so. It took 5 minutes. If he knows you don’t like something he stops. If you’re happy, he’s the happiest. He is an excellent student and even better cuddler.

He began limping and he did not put a lot of weight on his rear leg. His left knee was out of place with some healed trauma scars at the ankle down. X-rays were taken at the vet and he has a severed ligament (Cranial Cruciate) and a dislocated knee. A fecal test revealed a parasite called Giardia that is being treated. Vets name is Kriti Saxena at Meadow Brook Animal Hospital, McKinney, TX.

I wanted a new dog because there are so many dogs that need homes out there. I like to do the right thing but unfortunately I can’t afford it right now and it makes me feel bad for my new best friend. He deserves to run, jump and play.
