Rocco is a 7 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Spring, TX, who needs $1,200 for Pericardiocentesis.

Rocco has been with our family for 7 years. We got him at 6 months ol . He grew up with my dog Titi and his daughter Jozi came along 3 years after . He loves playing tug-of-wa with Jozi , stealing bones, and waiting patiently so he can finish their leftovers. We all have nicknames for him “Toto,” and “Rokito.” He’s a very playful, energetic, loving and caring dog. He means the world to us.

On June 19, Rocco stopped eating, lay down all day, and was breathing strangely while getting cold. We rushed him to the ER and learned he was in critical condition with fluid around his heart (pericardial effusion). He needed an emergency procedure to drain the fluid to help him breathe and survive. He got the treatment done , now we need help to maintain my dog healthy and pay for medications.

Rocco loves playing tug-of-war and frisbee with Jozi and chewing on bones. He’s a total momma’s boy who loves cuddles, getting tucked in under his blanket, and sitting next to my mom to watch TV. He’s protective of Titi and Jozi, waits to steal their leftovers, and always sniffs grocery bags hoping for a new toy. He’s such a sweet baby , he’s very energetic and loving .

We can manage Rocco’s meds, but when fluid builds around his heart, he needs an emergency procedure to survive. It’s heartbreaking knowing help exists but is so expensive. We just want to keep him safe, comfy, and with the family that loves him deeply.
