About this campaign
My kids ages 13,10,&4 and I drove four hours to go pick up our newest family member. We were all super excited and was so happy when we finally brought him home. Rocket has been a part of the family for almost two months. He got his name because when we got home and my youngest daughter opened the car door he took off like a rocket! Lol. We had to chase him to bring him inside.
Rocket has come to be a sibling and a best friend to my kids. They love him just as much as I do. He follows my youngest daughter Rosie around the house all day but when it’s time for bed he sleeps right next to my oldest daughter. He has been an awesome attitude adjustment for my up and coming teenage son. Rocket is essential to my family.
I am a single mother of 3 working a part time job. I got Rocket for the kids to learn and love. Unfortunately the surgery to save him is extremely out of my financials. Rocket is our family’s ray of sunshine. We love him and want him to enjoy a long and healthy life.
We had Ronan first which is rockets half brother. Ronan died of the same condition at only two months. Rocket has been diagnosed with congenital laryngeal paralysis at only 5 months. The only possible solution is a tie back surgery to save his life. Dr Allan at medvet in Metairie, LA has been helping our family through this hard time.
Rocket is really just like one of the kids! Lol He is starting to try to catch birds and he sort of does this hopping thing when he’s in the grass. He looks more like a reindeer than a dog. Lol He is my alarm clock at 6 o’clock am every morning. He is so young and has a very happy life ahead of him which is why we must save him.
