About this campaign

We were at the pet store getting dog food when the rescue cats caught our eye.
Rocket was so sweet and playful and we just knew we had to have him. We got him when he was 12 weeks old. He’s not even 1 year old.

In July, Rocket came home with a broken leg. We immediately took him to Purdue Animal Hospital. He suffered a severe break and needed an amputation. We then took him to our local vet (Wildcat Valley) who did the amputation. A week later he developed an infection that required the wound to be flushed and sutured redone. We are going on 3/4 weeks of recurrent infection and antibiotic resistance.

Rocket quickly became best friends with our Rottweiler drax and our children. He loves to play and sneak attack. Rocket would run around our house like a mad man at night. He was so active that we finally decided to let him explore the outdoors. While we regret that choice now, he loved it and felt at happiest there.

This came days after learning that our dog needs ACL surgery. My husband started a new business at the beginning of the year and funds have been tight because of that. We exhausted all of our emergency funds already. We just want to see him healthy and happy again.
