About this campaign
One day, we went to a friends house who’s dog just had a litter. Rockie was the runt of the litter and they were having a hard time finding him a home. When they saw the connection he and I had, the asked if we wanted to take him home. Of course we said yes. And Rockie has been with us ever since.
Rockie loves to chase his big dog siblings around the backyard. He was diagnosed with IVDD last year and was paralyzed from the waist down. After finding affordable treatment, he was able to gain control of his back legs again and can keep up with the big dogs as well as the furless puppies. Rockie also LOVES to snuggle and burrow under all the blankets. He is my personal space heater.
Rockie has to stay at the vet for AT LEAST 2 nights. When we were first quoted for his treatment we were informed that it would cost up to $500. But because it is unknown if he has kidney damage now, they need to run extra tests and the bill is quickly increasing by the hour
Dr Fredrigill at the Veterinary Medical clinic in sterling has been looking after Rockie since I had to take him in due to vomiting up blood. What we thought happened was that Rockie must have eaten something he should t have. But upon further investigation, it turns out the Rockie developed a cyst in his urethra prohibiting him from being able to urinate. He was extremely dehydrated.
Rockie is so special because he has the personality of a Great Dane but the body of a dachshund. He is such a lover and always knows when mama is sad. He follows me everywhere I go, so you can only imagine what it’s been like without him here recently. I have never spent a single night away from him.
