Rocky is a 10-year-old American Shorthair Cat in Kerman, CA, who needs $1,400 for Urinary Blockage and Cystotomy.

Rocky was rescued by a No Kill Shelter. They found him half dead in a puddle with an infection in his eyes, and did surgery to remove them. For years, they kept him in their care, and were particular on who could adopt him. I remember when I first contacted the shelter, they told me I could only do a visit and see how we interacted. But when he and I hugged at that visit, they immediately said Ok!

Rocky is the only animal I have. He is a spoiled thing who doesn't like to go outside or interact with other pets. He wants to be King of the room (being blind, he likes to stay in one room so he's not stressed out). And he is. He happily sleeps on my chest - smothering me - most nights. He's given his treats, belly rubs, and head pats every other hour. He's a good boy.

The best thing about Rocky is the fact that despite not being able to see, he can tell when I'm upset or follows me around the room with his head. He's so linked to me, it's insane. I feel like he's my twin in cat form, or my son I've birthed. He knows me inside and out, and I know him. He's there for me when I need him, and he does the silliest things to make me laugh when I'm having a rough day.

Rocky has Feline Leukemia and a chronic ear condition. For the most part though, he's very happy and healthy so long as he's kept in his safe bubble (allowed out every now and then to bask in the sunshine). But recently, he's been straining to pee and peeing blood. He apparently has a partial obstruction in his urethra and several bladder stones. Without surgery, he is doomed.

I've already spent 900 dollars on the ER alone for him, and I really just need help funding his surgery. It's $2000 and I don't have that kind o money lying around. But with this, it's a fairly permanent solution and will help him so much.
