This brave boy named Roku was found as a stray, wandering alone and in terrible pain. Slightly underweight and clearly neglected, it’s assumed he had been dumped. But the most heartbreaking discovery was his leg—a bandage had been wrapped so tightly that it cut off circulation. The leg was cold, lifeless, and deformed, covered in bite marks and wounds.

The vets described it as "strangulation from the bandage," and there was no choice but to amputate. X-rays revealed that the leg had been dislocated for some time, and with no blood flow, it had become necrotic. The infection had spread from his leg into his body, putting him at risk. But with immediate surgery and treatment, this resilient pup got a second chance.

Fortunately, the amputation surgery went well, and now, he’s on the long road to recovery. He’s receiving ongoing care to fight the infection, and his foster family is giving him all the love and attention he needs while he rests. Despite everything he’s been through, his spirit is as strong as ever, and he’s adjusting to life on three legs with surprising ease.
