He underwent a front leg amputation on December 18, 2023, at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital to manage pain and stop the cancer's spread. His care team recommends six rounds of chemotherapy to prevent recurrence. This treatment is critical, but costs are overwhelming
