About this campaign

Rolo was adopted from an animal shelter in Fulton County, Indiana at less than 3 months old . I wanted my daughter, Abby, to have a companion to take to college in the fall. We began looking online. The moment we saw Rolo's photo, we instantly fell in love and decided to make the trip to meet her for the first time. She was perfect for Abby! We adopted her that day, giving her a forever home.

Very recently, we began to notice a change in Rolo's breathing pattern, as well as her energy level, which prompted us to visit our veternarian, where we were told she was in congestive heart failure. Thanks to Purdue Small Animal Hospital, and a battery of tests, Rolo has been diagnosed with a rare congential heart defect called Cor triatriatum sinister (CTS) .

Rolo is incredibly special to my daughter, Abby. She is more than just a pet; she is her loyal best companion and best buddy. Her soothing presence brings Abby comfort during anxious moments, providing a sense of calm and support. With her playful spirit and gentle purrs, she brightens Abby's days and reminds her that she is never alone, even when she's away at college.

Currently, Rolo's medical diagnosis brings us two options; continue treating her with medication until her body can no longer tolerate it, or a surgery that can fix the defect allowing fluid to build up in her lungs. Surgery is our best chance at giving her a quality life.
