About this campaign

When Roni arrived at the veterinary hospital on March 28th, she was clearly suffering. Her small body was overwhelmed by a severe tick infestation, and she was weak, lethargic, and struggling. What should have been a simple rescue quickly turned into a medical emergency.

After running a Full Blood Count (FBC), the veterinary team discovered something even more concerning. Roni was also suffering from severe anemia. The ticks hadn’t just caused discomfort; they had drained her strength and left her dangerously depleted. Anemia at this level can quickly become life-threatening, and Roni urgently needed intensive care.

The medical team immediately began a comprehensive treatment plan to give her the best chance at recovery. Roni is now receiving:

\- Antiprotozoal therapy to combat potential tick-borne parasites - Erythropoietic therapy to help her body produce desperately needed red blood cells - A NexGard tablet for immediate and ongoing tick control

These treatments are essential to stabilize her and help her body rebuild after the damage she has endured. While she is now safe and receiving compassionate care, her recovery is still ongoing, and she has a long road ahead.

It’s heartbreaking to imagine how long Roni suffered before help arrived. No dog deserves to be weakened and drained by parasites, left feeling exhausted and unwell. Now that she finally has a chance to heal, we want to make sure nothing stands in the way of her recovery.

Your donation will help cover:

\- Critical diagnostic testing - Life-saving medications - Supportive therapies to rebuild her strength - Ongoing monitoring to ensure she continues to improve

Every dollar helps ease the burden of her medical care and gives Roni the support she needs to keep fighting. Even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing Roni’s story can help her reach someone who can. Together, we can help her regain her strength, recover from this ordeal, and move forward toward the happy, healthy life she deserves.

Please consider donating today to help Roni heal.
