Rorschach is a sweet 12-year-old American Pitbull Terrier who has been by his dad’s side since he was just six weeks old — surviving parvovirus as a puppy and growing into the loyal best friend his family depends on every day. Over the years, Rorschach has been a protector in every sense of the word. He has defended his home from dangerous wildlife, watched over children and other animals, and most recently has become a gentle, loving companion to his dad’s young son. But now this devoted senior dog is in pain.

Rorschach has a badly broken tooth that has become infected, causing painful swelling and discomfort. His family rushed him to the veterinarian, where he was started on antibiotics and pain medication, but this is only temporary relief. Veterinary specialists have confirmed that he urgently needs dental surgery, including multiple tooth extractions, to remove the source of infection and stop his suffering. Without surgery, the infection and pain will only continue to worsen.

The estimated cost of treatment is up to $1,820, depending on how many damaged teeth need to be removed. Paws 4 A Cure is providing a $300 grant, but Rorschach’s dad still needs help raising the remaining funds to move forward. As a newly full-time single parent, he is doing everything he can — but he cannot do this alone.
