About this campaign

Meet Rosa, a beautiful nine-year-old Hemingway cat whose quiet, gentle love has been a constant source of comfort in her mom’s life. Today, that same sweet girl is in pain—and urgently needs your help.

Rosa has been diagnosed with bilateral anal sacculitis, a severe and painful condition that has already required repeated, uncomfortable treatments just to manage. Despite multiple procedures, the problem keeps returning, leaving Rosa suffering and her mom searching for a permanent solution.

That solution is surgery. A bilateral anal sacculectomy will remove the source of Rosa’s pain and give her the chance to live comfortably again. Her veterinarian is optimistic—once she has this surgery, Rosa is expected to make an excellent recovery and return to the happy, affectionate companion she’s always been. But there’s a heartbreaking obstacle: the cost.

The procedure is estimated at $5,744. With the help of a $400 grant from Paws 4 A Cure and funds already raised, Rosa’s mom is still facing a gap of $3,000—a number that stands between Rosa and the relief she so desperately needs.

Rosa is not just any cat. She has been by her mom’s side since she was just five weeks old, arriving with her twin brother, who tragically passed away within a year. Rosa grieved deeply, hiding from the world—until, slowly, patiently, love brought her back. Over time, she learned to trust again, forming an unbreakable bond with the person who never gave up on her.

Now, Rosa is a constant, loving presence:

\- Curling up beside her mom every morning before she even opens her eyes - Following her from room to room, never wanting to be far - “Helping” with painting projects - Melting into her with purrs at bedtime

She is comfort. She is companionship. She is family. And right now, she is hurting. Her mom has already done everything she can—enduring repeated vet visits, covering costs, and even raising half the surgical funds on her own. But she cannot do this last part alone.

💜 Your donation—no matter the size—can help relieve Rosa’s pain and give her the life she deserves.

💜 If you can’t donate, sharing Rosa’s story could help reach someone who can.

Every dollar brings Rosa closer to a pain-free life. Every share brings hope. Paws 4 A Cure relies on compassionate supporters like you to provide critical veterinary care for pets in need. Together, we can make sure that financial hardship never stands in the way of love and lifesaving treatment. Please help Rosa get the surgery she needs—and the future she deserves.

5/18/26 Update

We are so grateful to share that Rosa has officially had her bilateral anal sacculectomy surgery!

After enduring months of painful flare-ups, repeated treatments, and uncomfortable procedures, Rosa finally received the operation she desperately needed. Her veterinary team is very hopeful that this surgery will permanently resolve the severe bilateral anal sacculitis that has been causing her so much pain.

Rosa is now home recovering with her mom by her side, where she is already enjoying extra snuggles, soft blankets, and plenty of love. While she still has healing ahead of her, her family is incredibly relieved to finally see her on the path toward comfort and recovery.

For nine years, Rosa has been her mom’s constant companion through every season of life—greeting her each morning, following her from room to room, supervising painting projects, and curling up close at bedtime. Watching her struggle in pain was heartbreaking, and being able to move forward with this surgery means everything.

None of this would have been possible without your kindness and generosity. Every donation, share, and message of support helped lift a tremendous burden from Rosa’s family and gave this sweet girl the chance to heal.

Thank you for believing Rosa deserved relief, comfort, and many more happy years ahead. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of her journey.
