Roscoe is a 10-year-old Beagle / Shar-Pei in Marietta, GA, who needs $4,000 for for tumor surgery, for splenectomy and thoracic radiographs.

We rescued Roscoe from a not so good situation when he was 1st born. He was free to a good home and the last of his litter when we arrived. We got Roscoe when he was 8 weeks old, 2 lbs, and he is now 10 years old and living a great life. He's spent most of his life up in Pittsburgh/Philadelphia but we recently moved to Georgia, where he seems to be adjusting just fine to the warmer weather.

Roscoe is seen and treated as a human in our family. I don't think my parents would let me visit without him. He lounges on our couches, sleeps next to me in bed every night, even waking up with his head on the pillow and tucked under the covers... he's like a human sometimes. He's extremely friendly and still thinks he's a lap dog at times. He loves rides in the car with his head out the window.

This was an unexpected cost that came out of nowhere for us. We recently moved to GA and were unable to sell our house in NJ, so we are currently paying 2 mortgages. We also have a wedding next May (postponed due to COVID) that we've already put deposits down on.

We discovered a large lump near his belly recently and took him to get it tested. Tests came back positive for cancer. The tumor is about the size of a softball. Our vet, Buckhead Village Vets, referred us to a surgery specialist named Blue Pearl, where we have a consultation 4/30/20 to learn more of what surgery will look like for Roscoe.

Roscoe is so loving. He will literally nudge your arm while in bed until you lift the covers up so he can go underneath, do a circle, and come back up to plop his head on your shoulder. He loves and just wants to be loved. He loves sitting on the back porch to keep an eye out for squirrels and birds among the trees.
