About this campaign
Rosie came into my little family after the loss of my eldest boston terrier, Gracie aka PigPig. The loss of Piggy was very hard and my two little girls, ages 4 and 7. I was able to surprise them a couple weeks later with Rosie. She was a joy the moment we brought her home, and the girls instantly formed a tremendous bond with her.
Rosie hasn't been with us super long, so it's hard to say how she spends her day to day. She does have an older sister named Piglet that sometimes will play with her. Piglet is more interested in murdering squirrels than her little sister though. When Rosie feels good, she loves playing with the girls and I. She chases her sister around the house and gets up to mischief, just like any other pup.
I'm just learning about Rosie, but she's a strong little spirit. She will bark and stand up to any other dog, and has a bark that makes her sound like she's been smoking for 20+ years. She also snores VERY loudly.
Rosie started screaming 2 months ago, and we initially thought it was seizures. This went on for a month with various treatments - phenobarbital, prednisone, Keppra, and gabipentin. We finally saw a neurologist at the University of Illinois, where they agreed she needs an MRI. Until then, she is on prednisone and gabipenten to keep her comfortable.
Rosie means the world to two little girls, especially after the loss of our long-time friend. I've been medically disabled for early 2 years due to chronic illness, making my financial abilities extremely limited.
