About this campaign

Rosie was a gift to me, from my husband, for my birthday. We originally went to the questionable breeders house -we were young and didn't know better- to look at the weenie dog puppies. When I saw Rosie, who was very much not a puppy, scared and hiding in the corner, I knew we had to bring her home. She warmed up to us almost immediately and has been our little cuddle bug since.

We suspect that Rosie has IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) which is unfortunately common in dachshunds. She woke up yelping in pain, shaking, and basically immobile yesterday. We took her to our vet and they ran $700 worth of tests and claimed it was only a gut issue despite my protest about a possible spine issue. Today her condition, pain, and immobility has worsened.

Dachshunds are known to imprint on one family member stronger than other breeds. For Rosie, I am that person. She's my emotional support animal, but I often joke that I am her emotional support human. Where I go she goes. If I'm not available for cuddles she goes right to my son. She enjoys playing with our cats, is highly motivated by pets, and misses her cuddle buddy Annie, who just passed.

We just lost our cat, Annie (black cat in picture), a couple weeks ago super unexpectedly in a traumatic way. This left us with a $1500 care credit bill. Rosie's tests yesterday cost $700. We now owe $2500 in vet fees and are drained financially. We dont know what else to do
