About this campaign

Rosie was adopted from a local animal shelter March 17, 2017 after my having to put down 2 dogs the month before a day apart. She was a joy and uplift right from beginning. Next day I took a "foster" who had to go have heartworm treatment, Lucy. They bonded immediately. Rosie treats Lucy (beagle) like her baby licking her face all the time. Of course, Lucy became a "foster failure. Bonded pair

Rosie loves the outdoors. Great sense of smell and hearing. She is my "monitor" as she misses nothing. It is only my "girls" and me. Rosie loves large marrow bones and will share them with me and Lucy. She loves to bring them to me in the morning while I am reading the paper. We play a little game where I take it and she wants it back. She is a great dog and companion to us.

Rosie seems to favor cooler weather rather than the hot weather. She likes walks. She also loves it when I am in the yard with her "cleaning" up. She goes through the yard sniffing and checking out everything. Se loves, loves, loves belly rubs. She will throw herself down in my path to get one.

Rosie injured herself in December by chasing a squirrel while we were walking. She ruptured a cranial cruciate ligament and needs surgery. She is on pain meds and anti inflammatory. She cannot put weight on the leg and limps. Of course, no walks. She is resting a lot and has to be kept quiet. Surgery is scheduled for March 9.

I am a single 75 yr old woman on fixed income. November and December I had medical issues. I am paying ER, doc, tests and ambulance bills. Happy my issues were done and I could walk her again and this happened. She so enjoyed the walks. I know how much she misses them.
