About this campaign

Rosie was released from the ER on Easter Sunday (4/4/21) with a diagnosis of regenerative Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. None of the Transfusions had worked and they had little hope that the immunosuppressant
they put her on when she first arrived was going to work in time. Her release papers stated that they didn't expect her to live more than a few days.

She seemed like she was doing well when we first got her home but I think it was because she was glad to be home. She quickly went downhill Monday - collapsing that afternoon - we just knew the end was near. One of the signs of distress we were to look for was rapid breathing - so that is what we kept a close eye on. She remained very weak Monday night - we stayed up all night with her praying and watching her breath - it never got rapid or labored. She was fighting to live so we were going to be there fighting with her. Tuesday afternoon we began to see little glimpses that her strength might be returning - the immunosuppressant had finally started to work. We stayed by her side day and night all week - it was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. She began drinking water again on Wednesday and eating a little on Thursday.

It was a miracle but she was getting back to herself days before she went to the ER. Still not in the best shape by any means but finally making forward progress. She had bloodwork done on Monday (4/12/21) and it showed slight improvement over the bloodwork that sent her to the ER. The doctor sounded positive but said we may have to change her to a chemo drug if her bloodwork doesn't begin to show more improvement. She had lost a good bit of weight so now that she has shown a renewed interest in food we are trying to get some weight back on her.

She still has an uphill battle in front of her. She will have to visit the vet weekly for bloodwork and continue expensive medication indefinitely. Any support we could get to help with these expenses would be greatly appreciated. This fund is specifically for animals and all money collected goes directly to the vet taking care of Rosie to cover her expenses.
