Rosie is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Treasure Island, FL, who needs $6,943 for Luxating Patella Surgery.

I brought home Rosie from a small family breeder when she was 8 weeks old. We currently live in Treasure Island FL. I purchased Rosie in hopes to make her a therapy dog. We were going to start therapy pet training when I got the devastating news at 1 years old that she had Luxating Patella in both of her knees which would need treatment and possibly surgery.

After spending hundreds of dollars on acupuncture, supplements, and cold laser therapy during the first year of her diagnosis, her conditioned worsened and she is now in need of surgery for both of her knees at 2.5 years old. She is scheduled to have surgery on March 5, 2026 for one of her knees (Vet recommended one knee at a time) at Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists.

Rosie is a loving, sweet girl who loves to cuddle and likes belly rubs. She has a natural instinct to console others when they are upset by cuddling and licking them which is why she will make a great therapy dog. She loves to chase lizards, pelicans, and herons out of our yard.

The home we live in was flooded during Hurricane Helene with 4 feet of water. I was out of work for a month cleaning & evacuating for Milton. I spent most of my savings recovering from the hurricanes & replacing needed necessities. 6K for surgery is too much for me to bare.
