About a year after our first dog passed we finally felt ready for another dog. We found a rescue site and actually went to see a different dog. Upon arrival, the other puppy walked right up to my husband, he picked her up and she immediately started licking his face. He melted! Our daughter wanted to name her Bella, but I prefer human-like names so we settled on Roxy, (middle name) Bella :)

Roxy is the kind of dog who plays HARD. She jumps and runs so fast she has a hard time slowing down. She loves to play fetch so much, but she often overdoes it. This last time she really overdid it; tearing her cruciate ligament. She can't put any weight on her hind leg. We have confirmed this with Bridge St Vet Clinic and they said she requires TPLO surgery.

Roxy loves people! As she is still young, she gets overly excited to see people and usually ends up spinning in circles at the feet of whoever walks in our door. Most of all, she loves her kids! She waits by their bedroom doors for them to wake in the morning, watches at the door when they leave for school, and waits by the door when she knows its about time for them to come home.

We are mostly a 1 income household and we get by. But recently, mostly for mental health reasons, my husband made a mid-life career change. We went into the change knowing it would drastically change our finances but we didn't expect an expense like this would come up.
