About this campaign

At Unconditional Love for Strays, Roxy came into care after being found running loose near a local middle school. A concerned community member reached out for help, and with the finder needing to leave town, the rescue stepped in immediately to ensure her safety.

Upon veterinary evaluation, it was determined that Roxy had likely already been bred at a young age. She was also diagnosed with hookworm and had not yet been spayed. The team began treatment right away and continues to monitor her condition closely until she is fully cleared.

As Roxy settled into rescue care, it became clear that she was struggling with interactions around other dogs. Despite multiple attempts to safely integrate her, including the use of protective equipment, she remained reactive. For her safety and the safety of others, she is now housed separately in a secure outdoor run where she can be properly managed and cared for.

Roxy has since been spayed, and her care has required ongoing veterinary treatment, behavioral management, and specialized housing accommodations. These necessary expenses have quickly added up and placed a significant strain on the rescue.

Unconditional Love for Strays remains committed to providing Roxy with the care and stability she needs, but they cannot do it alone. Support for her ongoing medical treatment and care will help ensure she continues to receive the attention and resources she deserves.
