About this campaign

It was 11yrs ago, my life was chaos. I purchased Roxy for $50 from my heroin dealer. With Roxy at my side every step, I'm now 10 years sober. We moved many times hiding from an abusive exboyfriend. I ended up in a new hope domestic violence shelter with my daughter seeking help to relocate. I was grateful for strangers with the PACT program who fostered Roxy while I looked for safe housing.

Roxy has multiple skin lesions that have been diagnosed as mast cell cancer. The doctor said surgical removal of the lesions should remove all the cancer. I've taken Roxy to "Tufts at Tech" which is a low income vet clinic run by Tufts Veterinary School.

I have mental and physical disabilities including PTSD and inflammatory arthritis. Roxy is my reason to get up everyday. She's the reason I go outside for walks. She makes me brave and keeps me safe. She's my unofficial service dog. She's my bridge to the outside world. She's my best and only friend and my life partner.

I receive ssdi due to disability. I work 2hrs a day, 4 days a week as a home health aid for senior citizens. Working extra shifts is not an option for me as I physically cannot do it and if I did I would lose my current benefits. I'm already behind in my rent.
