Roy is an 11-year-old Miniature Poodle in Thomasville, NC, who needs $430 for surgery to repair broken mandible.

Roy was rescued from an abusive home when he was approximately 7 months old. He was too scared to make a sound for 1.5 years and I thought his vocal cords had been cut. He finally got excited and yipped one day, scared himself so bad he wet himself. It took him a very long time to be comfortable with making sounds but he now barks when the other dog barks. He will only play by chasing his tail...until he sees you watching, then he thinks he's in trouble and stops. I can't get him to play with any toys. He is approximately 11 years old and my 24 year old son is his world!! Roy doesn't really care about the other dogs, but he don't know how to act if he can't be with my son (and visa versa) he has extreme separation anxiety. He goes from my son's bathroom door to me, back and forth, crying the entire time my son is in the bathroom. I lost my 16 year old toy poodle on June 4, 2018 and that was Roy's buddy until my son moved back in with me in 2017. My son has Cerebral Palsy, a cardiac condition, and major depressive disorder - to name a few, and Roy is his companion. They are always together. What we are going through right now is hard on me, but more-so on him, because of this. Even though I have had his teeth cleaned multiple times, with this breed, bad mouths are common and he has had some teeth removed. He lost one at home on it's own in the same location as one that was pulled and his jawbone no longer had support and has broken.
