Rubbyboy is a 13-year-old Shih Tzu in Montrose , CO, who needs $500 for Xrays, Lab Work, and Antibiotics.

Rubbyboy came into our lives January 18th 2011,when he was two months old. We purchased Rubby from my brother in law when we lived in California. Rubby lives with our family and our German Shepherd Thorn and another Shih tzu Little Girl. They all get along really well.

If Rubby is not snuggling with his humans on the couch he's sleeping in his hot dog truck shaped bed. He loves begging for scraps on his hind legs with his paws crossed in front of him. He loves going for walks, and still enjoys playing fetch. Car rides are his favorite, when he hears the keys he waits by the door and runs out with us. He is the oldest of the dogs, but doesn't act like it.

Rubby loves his squeaky toys and is very possessive over them. He hides toys behind the couch or in his bed. I call Rubby to wake up my kids. He will run upstairs and go into their rooms and sit by their bed. He is such a playful dog.

We first noticed Rubby was sick on Saturday January 13th. He was breathing faster than normal. We took him to Grand Valley Veterinary the next day. He had xrays and the doctor couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong. She said it maybe pneumonia. We were sent home with antibiotics. He got worse after a week. Took him to Black Canyon vet, more antibiotics but no improvement.

At the present time I am currently the only one working. It has been very rough for my family and I to watch our Rubby a member of our family to go through this sudden illness. To have Rubby be healthy again, would mean the world to our family.
