🐾 Support Ruby’s Fight for Her Kittens 💕

Sweet Ruby was surrendered in the final trimester of her pregnancy, left to face labor without the support of a caring and professional team. Luckily, Castaway Critters Rescue stepped in to care for her. When the time came to give birth, she welcomed five tiny kittens into the world, but sadly, only three survived.

One became stuck in the birth canal, and the other one lost its battle when Ruby was no longer able to push, and she was rushed to the ER for an emergency C-section. This procedure ultimately saved her life and the lives of her three other kittens.

In honor of the incredible vet techs who fought to save her, her three surviving kittens have been named after their birth stones Emerald, Sapphire, and Onyx. Now, Ruby is on antibiotics to prevent infection as she heals, but despite everything she’s been through, she is proving to be an incredible mother. Her kittens wiggle with joy when Ruby shows them affection and love.
