About this campaign
Her start in life was not great and the rescue group who found her believes at some point she was hit by a car but never received medical care. She had a broken pelvis and hip that only received treatment after the rescue put up the money to have her surgery. We agreed to foster her and quickly fell in love and agreed to adopt her.
Ruby is just a big love bug. She loves everyone she meets and continually brings joy into our lives. She accepts every rescue dog we've ever brought home and just adores her fur siblings. She is one of 4 current rescue pups in our home. She loves spending time with her humans and going for rides in the car.
Ruby is 9 years young and is always mistaken for a much younger dog because of her happy, goofy, bubbly personality. She also has this gift of sensing when my husband is having an anxiety attack and she immediately grabs his hand with her mouth to mouth to make him sit down. Once seated she jumps on his lap and licks his face. We call her an angel on Earth.
It started when she suddenly couldn’t bear weight on her hind legs. A trip to Levine Veterinary Neurology, in Sarasota, FL. After a series of tests, including an MRI, it was determined that she has an infection in her spine. The treatment was an overnight stay and IV antibiotics. She has an 80% chance of recovery.
Unfortunately, Covid impacted our finances and an unexpected $8,000 bill for Ruby's care is not something we were prepared for. But like all of our furbabies, we would move Heaven and Earth for her.
