RubyBlu is a 4-year-old Pitbull/Retriever Mix in Phillipsburg, NJ, who needs $250 for General Checkup and Spaying.

RubyBlu was originally posted on Facebook as needing an immedediate foster/forever home to avoid possible euthanization because her owner didn't want her. She is orginally from South Carolina and was brought up to NJ to a no-kill shelter. She was adopted 4 months ago but her new home was an abusive and neglectful place for her. Luckily we met her thru volunteers and this is her forever home now!

Rubyblu has 3 rescue pup sister's and 7 rescue kitty brothers and sisters. She gets along famously with all of them, treating our 2 smaller dogs like her pups. She is an incredibly sweet and loving dog who drools ALOT!! but we don't mind. She sleeps in the bed with us or on a couch and seems to love toys, treats and is adjusting to everything new!

Tbh this was a sudden expense we weren't expecting, but to save Rubyblu's life we are willing to take it on. There is no price we can put on saving a life, we wish we could save them all but for now we save Rubyblu. Any help anyone could offer would be so appreciated. Thanks

At the moment, Rubyblu is underweight, she's not spayed, and that we know of she had never visited a vet before. She had her first visit with Dr Amber at Warren Animal Hospital last Monday, July 26th and many things, including her bloodwork came back great! She does have a possible hernia she will need repaired when she goes in for her spaying this coming Monday.

Rubyblu has unfortunately had a pretty rough life, delivering at least one set of pups that we know of. Our vet has told us, there is some definite physical and mental abuse she has suffered and we can see that in our day to day life with her. She still flinches when we pet her, not expecting kind touches or words, but despite ALL of that, she is loving and kind.
