About this campaign
Rudy was found out and about in the suburbs of Houston when Hurricane Harvey hit, in 2017. During the initial house visit, Rudy immediately sat on the floor with me, and laid his head on my knee. He was born with bilateral entropion and had to immediately get surgery because he ran the risk of going blind, as his bilateral entropion was very severe.
Rudy and I moved with me to NY in 2019.
Rudy is a dog that immediately wins your heart. He is excited to meet new people all the time, always goes in for hugs, holding up his body against you. He is a very docile and slow moving boy, but shakes the entire house when he gets excited. He loves looking at the window alerting us of any cats or dogs walking across the street. And He can definitely clear a room with all his farting.
Rudy is what I like to call, a Brown Clown. Always smiling so big with his golden brown Rottie markings lining his lips. He loves to "Slammie Whammie" his 2 front legs when he is excited, throwing his head back making him look like her was a quadruple chin. Rudy doesn't hollow much, but when he does, it is a very deep, low, slow hollow while his little nub of a tail is goes haywire.
Rudy had slowly been developing a limp. I took him to the vet, believing it was a tear in one of his ligaments. They took X-Rays and immediately recommended to see an Oncologist. I took him to Blue Pearl in Brooklyn, where Dr. Ji-in Lee , the Oncologist ,took more X-Rays to find that there was a tumor in his left leg. His leg has been amputated for about 3 weeks now.
I have paid, out of pocket, what I could, and maxed out my Care Credit Card. Rudy has now been my partner in crime for the last 5 years. He is my confidant, my service dog, and my best friend. We have more adventures ahead.
