About this campaign
This is our beloved dog, Ru. We rescued him from the Everett Animal Shelter in August of ‘22. He’s an only dog-child, so he’s used to getting lots of attention, but he’s such a love with other pups. We moved into our own home a 2-3 weeks after adopting him and we’ve made so many memories with him here. He loves to run around in the yard and our neighbors have grown to love him, too.
He has developed cellulitis and is very sick. He has a mass that has developed on the back of his neck, and fluids have started to pool around his lymph nodes. He needs an operation as soon as possible, or necrosis will begin to set in and his condition will be life-threatening. With surgery, his prognosis is great. The team at Animal Medical Center of Seattle are confident in that he’d recover.
His personality is so distinct — he is emotionally intuitive, empathetic, and snuggly. But, he’s also very sassy when we ask him to do something that he doesn’t want to. He’s so smart, it gets him into trouble sometimes, but it’s one of the reasons why we adore him. I’m a type one diabetic and he knows when I have low blood sugar before I even do, and he’s not even a service dog. He’s our world.
Ru’s dog-dad and I are going through a divorce, so money is tight right now. We plan on co-pawrenting as much as possible. The operation would be a little over 3k, but a CT (+3k) is required to map out how they will operate, as the mass is located next to the jugular.
