Rufus is a 6-year-old Pitbull/Pointer mix in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $1,900 for knee surgery to repair his torn ACL.

I adopted Rufus back in June of 2014. When I first saw him in the animal shelter, I picked up a vibe off of him. I then asked to see him in the playground to see how his personality was, and he just ended up running laps around the yard. I instantly knew I was taking him home that day. He was very malnourished as a puppy and it took him a while to get to his ideal weight. As time went on we become best friends, sharing constant memories and just bring each other happiness. Rufus and I love going to the beach and watching the sunset together. Ive had to leave him for long periods of time because of my military service and it was one of the hardest goodbyes Ive ever had to say. But when I came home it was as if I never left. I hope to make the rest of his life as enjoyable and full of happiness.
