Rusty is a 11 month old Mix-Breed in Becker, MN, who needs $2,000 for Perineal Urethrostomy Surgery.

Rusty is 11 months old and was born from our female rescue cat "Kitty Girl" on 6/28/24. We live on a "farm", but Rusty isn't quite the working type of kitty like the others. He prefers to stay indoors and although his Mama has tried to teach him hunting skills; he's not interested! He has a "spicy" attitude and loves to play/spend time with our kids and other animals.

On 5/3/24 Rusty wasn't himself and not eating/drinking. We brought him to Blue Pearl ER vet. He had a urinary obstruction/FIC. He was transferred to Mission Animal Hospital for treatment of IV fluids, anesthesia to place a urinary catheter, flush bladder and remove obstruction. They are now recommending Perineal urethrostomy surgery or the potential of euthanasia if he doesn't get the surgery.

We have 4 pets total: an older male cat named Stripey, Kitty Girl (Rusty's mama), Rusty and a small dog (yorkie mix) named Milo. They are all a little team and remind me of the movie "Homeward Bound" LOL They are always together and when they are not together, they are looking for each other until they are together again. We also have 4 boys ages 6-14 in which they are very close with as well.

We have had a lot of unexpected expenses over the past few months and this will now add to that list. We initially expected Rusty to come home Sunday 5/5/24. Surgery, additional expenses or the idea of euthanasia were not part of the plan. It will be another $3k for surgery.
