Help Sable Heal – Emergency Surgery for a Broken Femur

Hi, my name is Morgan, and I’m asking for help for my beautiful baby girl, Sable. She is only 10 months old (almost 11 months) and has already been through more pain than any kitten ever should.

Sable suffered a severe broken left femur, which is broken into three pieces, after a tragic household accident involving our dog. He is a large dog (65–70 lbs), and it’s believed that in a moment of excitement while trying to play, he stepped or jumped on her as she ran by. After speaking with multiple veterinarians, we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to rehome/surrender our dog to ensure no accidents like this ever happens again.

After consultations with three different veterinarians, all have agreed that amputation is in Sable’s best interest. Repair is not a good option due to the severity of the fracture, and delaying surgery puts her at a higher risk of infection and long-term complications.

Right now, Sable has a temporary stent in her leg, but this is only a short-term solution and she needs surgery very soon to prevent infection and further pain.

Unfortunately, I am low-income and have exhausted every possible option. I have:
• Applied for veterinary credit cards (denied)
• Reached out to grants, nonprofits, and rescues
• Been turned away due to being out of county or because they are over capacity
• Been redirected repeatedly with no real solution

I finally found a veterinarian an hour and a half away who is willing to help Sable, but they require a deposit to move forward with surgery and payment plans — money I simply don’t have on my own.

I am asking for help to cover Sable’s amputation surgery deposit, and related veterinary costs so she can live a happy, pain-free life. Cats do incredibly well on three legs, and she still has so much life, love, and joy ahead of her.
