Sadie is a 4.5 year old Mix-Breed in Leland, NC, who needs $5,000 for Blockage Removal Surgery.

We got Sadie from the New Hanover Humane Society when she was just 3 months old. She is a Chocolate Lab mix. Our vet told me the first time he saw her that if I hadn't told him she was a mix he wouldn't have know it. She is 4 1/2 years old now and is a big part of our family. She is so spoiled. She eats her regular food just so she can get a treat. We wouldn't know what to do without her.

Sadie got sick on Friday, 1/30/26. She started throwing up and it wouldn't stop. I took her to Eastern Carolina Vet Medical Center. They gave her meds to stop the vomiting and fluids. We had to take her back today 2/1/26. xrays show a blockage. They need to do an ultrasound but can't till Tuesday. She is critical so they are keeping her until Tuesday when they can do the ultrasound.

Sadie is part of our family. She is a talker. She tells us when she needs to go out. She tells us when she wants a treat, which would be a dozen times a day if we gave it to her. When our grandkids take her out she races them to see who gets out first. When I go to work she won't tell me by. She just hangs her head and walks away. When I'm home all she wants to do is sit in my recliner with me.

We live on a fixed income. We borrowed money in order to keep her at the hospital for treatment until they can do an ultrasound Tuesday to see what is going on for sure. If we had not done that she would not have lived at home until Tuesday. Surgery will $5000 or more.
