Sadie is a rescue I found, after losing my dearest fur baby, that that had survived a very similar past. Sadie lived in a 3 x 3 cage for her first 4 years, was bred repeatedly, got no Medical care, and was very underweight when we found each other. She had never known human affection, love or freedom. She’d never felt grass under her feet, had no idea what play was, and trembled at human touch.

It took many months and patience, but slowly Sadie began to relax and trust. I got her the medical care she’d been denied her entire life, vaccines, fed her an ample & healthy diet, but unfortunately, her teeth were in such poor shape eleven had to be removed. With a lot of love, a healthy diet, and good medical care she has blossomed into a sweet, loving, happy, and loyal companion who I adore.

I am 60, divorced 2 years ago, disabled, and now live on a fixed income. This barely covers my monthly expenses, much less to pay the Vet so Sadie can get the care she needs for her pain. She is EVERYTHING to me, and my BEST and only company. Just want her pain gone.

At 9 yrs old Sadie has developed Pug Myelopathy, which is slowly paralyzing her rear legs, but thankfully, it causes her no pain.
A more urgent concern, however, is the poor condition of her remaining teeth, as they are causing her a great deal of pain and desperately need attention to alleviate this constant pain. The Rutland Vetrinary Clinic & Surgical Center can treat her, if I can pay for it.

Sadie is such a special little gal because she’s not only survived 4 years of abuse and neglect, she’s thrived! She’s gone from a dog that would literally pace a circle around my kitchen table for HOURS, to a relaxed, playful, and friendly companion. She loves kids, cats, and PEOPLE, and is certain everyone wants to pet her! She has overcome so many fears I am in awe of her courageous spirit.
