Sage is a 4-month-old Pit Bull mix in Philadelphia, PA, who needs $2,000 for eye surgery.

Little Sage's short life has been off to a rough start. First, Sage and his littermates needed a lifeline as they sat in a rural shelter.

Wet Nose Rescue swooped in and saved them all. Soon after, they discovered Sage had a nasty eye infection, which made him miserable. The rescue raced him to an emergency animal hospital.

"Sage spent a couple nights at the hospital undergoing extensive tests, and ultimately the vets decided his eye had sustained too much damage and needed to be surgically removed," Kim L., with the rescue, tells Waggle.

The pup had immediate surgery, and now he's a totally different dog.

"He enjoys running around and playing with his toys," Kim says. "Losing an eye hasn't made him skip a beat. We are so happy the little guy is no longer in pain."

But now the rescue owes thousands of dollars for Sage's surgery. The outstanding debt limits the number of other dogs they can save.

"Wet Nose remains committed to getting the care this sweet boy and all dogs in care need, but the bills have become quite costly," Kim says. "Please help us pay off Sage's outstanding medical bills!"
