Salem is a 1-year-old Domestic Long Hair Cat in Coeur D Alene, ID, who needs $500 for Examination and Treatment.

Salem was born in a barn with 8 other siblings, which 1 of them being his brother that I also have in my life. When I brought him home he was constantly sneezing and had snot coming from his nose. This lasted about a month before he got better. He is now 1 years old.

Salem is the ruler of the house, so he thinks. He is a big cat and knows it. He is very independent and only wants to be touched when he wants to be. He's in love with my daughter, when she comes around he perks up and begs for her attention. He picks on his brother and foster sister like crazy letting them know who's the boss.

Like I said Salem is a huge cat but you wouldn't know it by his meow. He's a squeaker when he meows. It's the funniest meow for such a big cat to have.

The past week has been somewhat different. Salem was showing signs of having whah I thought was a hairball. He's long haired so I just thought he was trying to cough up a hairball. I will watch him but nothing is coming up. Then the coughing stated getting more frequent and started sounding like he had a sick sounded cough, like we would have. He is weezing and having trouble breathing.

I'm a single mom and a full time student going to school for criminal justice to become a crime scene investigator. I only work part time and barely have enough to pay rent these days and now I have nothing to pay for Salem to even get a visit to the vet. Something is wrong
