Sam is a sweet, gentle Maltipoo who wouldn’t hurt a butterfly. He lives with my family in Brooklyn, but I’m the one paying for his care right now. Seeing him in pain is breaking my heart. I’ve had to drop my summer college class and start looking for a job just to afford his vet bills. I’m doing all I can.

Sam was hit by a bike and suffered a serious tail injury (sacrococcygeal luxation), which is causing him pain and possible nerve damage. He was seen at Veterinary Emergency Group – South Brooklyn and now needs an MRI to assess the extent of the injury and potential long-term effects. This is an emergency, and I’m doing everything I can to get him help.

He has big beady brown eyes that you can’t say no to—especially when he’s asking for a treat. He’s a little awkward and gets nervous outside, but that just makes him more lovable. He has a little duck that he walks around with all day
