About this campaign

Our family rescued Sam around 12 weeks old. He was breed to be a hog dog and he wanted nothing to do with that so the owner at the time has no desire to keep him. Sam has been the biggest blessing in our lives. Sam is not only loved by our family but many other family friends and relatives. Many say they wish they could find a dog like Sam!

In late January Sam developed a limp on his front right leg. Long story short after 3 vet visits all working 5 weeks and X-rays he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. We choose to amputate. He is adjusting well and happy and pain free! We did visit with the oncologist at Animal and referred center in the woodlands and received an estimate per treatment, unfortunately we are not able to afford that.

Sam has always has a “service dog” personality, he knows when someone is not well and will not leave their side. I have had both parents stay with me after surgeries and he is very attentive to them. Sam loves to go on rides, play ball and to swim. Sam has visited the local nursing home bringing joy to the residents I think it made him happy to let each one loveon him.

After Sam was diagnosed it was absolutely devastating! With the economy the way it has been we have been stretching Pennie’s till the next payday. Everything going up in cost but not the paychecks and we want the best care possible for Sam.
