Sammy is a 14-year-old Miniature Poodle in Dallas, TX, who needs $2,000 for C.H.O.P..

Sammy was a gift, he turned into a greater gift! I have taken him across country when I moved. He is an excellent passenger, on the highway he naps, then when I slow down off the highway, poof head pops up. When I moved back home to NY I stayed with a friend. It snowed, feet, there I was in the storm shoveling the grass for Sammy. My friend's son asked her why I was shoveling the grass!

Sammy, likes jumping on the couch and zooms on the back, then jumps off big! He likes saying hi to neighbors. On walks he thinks everyone knows him and looked forward to seeing him. He never judges, a homeless looking person sitting on a bench he went to say hello! He is gentle but far from scared, he is curious and trust me.

I work in a restaurant, covid has changed things. I can provide some of his treatment but Sammy needs more. He has been my help when life was hard, now I must help him. He is my heart.

Sammy breath was awful, so I thought he may have an infection. He did, but Dr. Kirkpatrick at VCA Lakewood felt swelling. We tested and Sammy has lymphoma. He now sees Rachel Kovac at Animal Diagnostics VCA Dallas. He is not losing weight and has started his chemo process. He is doing well eating, walking and doing this process well.

Sammy likes napping with his stuffed bear. Sitting on my lap he falls backward knowing I catch him. His stepmom was a sweet gentle pit bull. Sammy would run around her and sit on her head. The look he gives when he doesn't agree with you is one of "How dare you!" It is pretty funny that shocked face. He is good with cats too, we walk and this stray cat walks down the street with us.
