Sammy is an eight-year-old Mixed in Old Town, ME, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Sammy can't walk, and it's agonizing not only for Sammy but also for his human mom, Christine D.

"Sammy has torn his ACL and requires surgery," Christine tells Waggle. "He can't put any pressure on his rear left leg. It is breaking our heart to see him limping and unable to play with the other dogs."

But things are tough financially for Christine right now. She's also suffering from medical conditions. The bills for her treatments and travel to her specialty hospital, four hours away, ate up her savings and maxed out her credit cards.

The medical team at Veazie Veterinary Clinic is ready to do Sammy's surgery, but Christine needs to raise the money to pay for it. She adopted Sammy years ago, and he is her pride and joy.
