After my husband died I got Sammy as a present. He was so small and we bonded immediately. We have been together for 9 years already. In that time my best friend had also lost his wife. We grieved together and became very close, he became my partner. Sammy was our baby. I say was because my partner passed away now 2 years ago. It affected both of us very hard. Sammy is the only thing I have left.

We live in the trailer my partner build for us. He has free rain of the place and has a big backyard to run in. Sammy has always slept in bed with us under the covers and that will never change. We are very close, he goes everywhere I go or he gets very depressed. He is very smart and can give hugs when asked. His favorite is peanut butter treats. He is so spoiled. He is loved by everyone he sees.

Sammy knows many tricks my favorite is his hugs. He makes me laugh when he pushes me in bed because he can’t get any closer to me but always tries. Sammy is my happy place I can’t live without him. I would do anything for him. I love to play frisbee with him and go for car rides. Where ever I am he is always be right next to me following right behind. He can’t get enough belly rubs while grunting!

Sammy has 4 bladder stones that requires surgery to remove. He was put on a special diet to prevent anymore from forming. However the vet said if 1 of them moves he could get backed up and won’t be able to pee which will become fatal fast. Surgery was put off for a month already to get over having lepto.. He just has not been his happy self lately.

I am on a very low fixed income since my partner passed away and with Sammy’s new diet each 25lb bag costs $98. I am putting every penny I can towards his surgery but money is very tight. I hate seeing him lay around knowing he don’t feel good. I wish I could take the pain.
